Lit Youngstown, a literary arts nonprofit,  will give away graphically designed posters at the Summer Festival of the Arts on July 8-9 on YSU’s campus.

The posters feature winning poems from the Words Made Visible Poster Project. Three poems and four haiku were selected out of hundreds of submissions from Ohio-affiliated writers. Graphic design student Laura Garvin created the posters from winning poems by Youngstown native Allison Pitinii Davis (currently of Tennessee), Elliot Nicely of Cleveland, Craig Paulenich of Guilford Lake, Valentina Ranaldi-Adams of Fairlawn & Laura Grace Weldon of Litchfield.

The 13×17” posters will be free to visitors to the Lit Youngstown tent at the art festival. In addition, two poetry poster winners and two finalists will be featured at a 2:00 reading in the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley Center. Elliot Nicely and Craig Paulenich will be joined by Luke Martinucci of Poland, Ohio, a student at the Valley Christian School Lewis Center, and Dianne Borsenik of Elyria. Borsenik won Lit Youngstown’s Ekphrasis Contest in 2015, and her poem “Disco” was featured on purple tote bags and t-shirts.
