Event Description

Learn “hands on” the art of making Pysanky – Ukranian Easter Eggs. Saturday, March 25, 1:00 – 3:30.  Experience this historic “art of the people” using a batik method of wax resist with dye baths. Create an original design incorporating traditional methods and symbolism on a actual egg shell.

Celebrate the history and culture of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley! New Events and Field Trip Destinations! This five day camp will explore more than 10,000 years of history as we discover the people and events that helped to shape the Mahoning Valley. Participants will explore aspects of Youngstown history, from the first inhabitants through the pioneer settlement, the rise and fall of the iron and steel industries, and the emergence of Youngstown as a cultural and business center. Field trips to area landmarks, immersive activities, and a focus on Youngstown Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow highlight the week.
