WARREN HOMECOMING
It’s where your heart is.
September 22-25, 2017

What Is It?

Many of the people who left Warren over the past 40 years remain closely connected to their home town. They have friends and family here, and for many of them Warren will always be home.

Warren Homecoming celebrates that connection for the people who stayed and the people who left.

Homecoming is just what it sounds like, but it isn’t affiliated with any one school or class — it’s for everybody!

Who Is Organizing This?

A group of engaged citizens are partnering with numerous organizations and businesses throughout Trumbull County to provide a variety of events across the weekend.

What Can We Expect to Do in Warren that Weekend?

Keep an eye out for a full schedule of events!

How Can We Participate?

The organizers are developing a marketing campaign to reach the many former Warrenites we hope will return Homecoming weekend. Participants are encouraged to add an own event.

What Sort of Event Can Be Created?

  • If you are a church, how about a picnic for returning former members?
  • If your graduating class is planning a reunion, why not this weekend?
  • Did you play for Harding or JFK? Get your buddies together and take in a game.
  • Hold a block party. Everyone likes to visit the old neighborhood now and then.
  • Add a Homecoming weekend special for your business — we will promote it to attendees.
  • Have entertainment in your restaurant or bar — we will promote it too.

How Will This Benefit Warren?

Our goal is to get 1000+ people to come to Warren for the weekend.

Greene Eagle Winery 2576 Davis Peck Rd Cortland, Ohio 44410

May 20, 2017

3:00 pm To 10:00 pm

Television personalities Big Chuck and Lil’ John headline the next fundraiser for the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra to be held at the Greene Eagle Winery on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Big Chuck and Lil’ John will perform from 3 to 5 p.m.

Also performing after 5 p.m. is the popular Take II Band. Dr. Bob and Ellie will set up in the winery for all to enjoy.

Tickets for Big Chuck and Lil’ John are $10 per person and will be sold at the gate; reservations will be accepted by phoning 330-399-3606 before May 19 at 3 p.m. Pre-event tickets can be purchased using the reservation form on the Fundraiser Flier (PDF 1Mb). Ticket sales help underwrite WPO concerts and youth projects.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Greene Eagle Winery and other vendors. Big Chuck and Lil’ John merchandise will be available for purchase, and an autograph session will be held after their performance. The event also features a pizza eating contest sponsored by Sunrise Inn and a 50/50 raffle.

Big Chuck Schodowski and John Rinaldi (Lil’ John) have been Northeast Ohio TV personalities for decades, mainly on WJW-TV (Fox 8). Introducing movies broadcast by the station is secondary to the off-beat skits Big Chuck and Lil’ John produce and star in that accompany the films. Their reputation has grown, with many celebrities adding their talents. Big Chuck and Lil’ John participate in many charity events in the region each year.

The Greene Eagle Winery opened in December 2009 and boasts “a venue reminiscent of Colonial Williamsburg.” The winery hosts a variety of wine and music events throughout the year, Wednesday through Sunday and special occasions by appointment. Indoor and outdoor spaces provide a casual atmosphere. The winery is located at 2576 Davis Peck Road, Cortland, Ohio (Greene Township). On May 20, the winery is open from noon to 10 p.m.
